Spent Xmas at a traditional Japanese hotel and had a great experience! Loved the private hot springs and the traditional Japanese room with comfortable futon beds. the service was incredible, with a warm welcome, gift shop with plenty of souvenirs, and a delicious traditional meal. the location was perfect, nestled in the mountains with beautiful views. Also enjoyed the free shuttle to the nearby town. Overall a great way to experience Japanese culture and hospitality.
The lack of wifi in the room and limited English speaking staff. it was a refreshing break from technology and the staff was still incredibly accommodating and helpful even with the language barrier.
